IN THE

AREA:

Les bonnes adresses are something quintessentially French - addresses of shops and suppliers, which are well-kept secrets. They are so good that we share them only with our nearest and dearest - you. Ready? Take note...

The Château du Jonquier is the perfect base to discover all the cultural and natural wonders that the Provence has to offer:

Avignon, the world-famous, bustling historic city, is a short 25 min drive away: visit the Papal palace, catch a fringe play or dance on the world-famous 'pont' that half-bridges the river Rhône's surprisingly strong currents.

The BEST lunch there is at 'Le Goût du Jour', a Michelin Star Restaurant a stone-throw away from the Papal palace. A three course menu including a glass of wine and a cup of coffee for 25 Euros? Incroyable.

Or do you prefer visiting L'Isle Sur La Sorgue, which has become the center for the French antiques trade? For a break from treasure hunting, stay or eat at the cute, family-owned 'La Prévôté. The 'Hôtel Particulier dates from the XVIIth century and a river runs through it. Literarily.

Staying in? Order your luxury Paella made with love by Mi Candela - you've never seen so many and so big gambas. Her pans feed up to 200 people.

Finally, explore in  the medieval little market town Mazan itself and hunt down delicacies on market day: Wednesday is all about Provencal produce. Wash it down with the best AOC Ventoux has to offer: fresh Rosés, crisp Whites and full-bodied Reds from 'Mas de Plein Pagnier' and the 'Mas de la Combe'.

If you find another 'bonne adresse' you'd like to share, let us know!

NATURE

When Provence was created, the world had one of its best days ever: shielded by mountains and kissed by the sun, caressed by easy breezes and blessed with an abundance of water.

The 1910m of the 'Mont Ventoux' rise right behind the house. Ascending the mountain is an unforgettable and enrichening experience. Its rocky, snow-white summit offers an unforgettable hike or ride. Pack a picnic and a jumper for the summit, then settle down and enjoy the breath- taking view!

The lush and rolling green valleys invite your taste buds for an adventure. Discover the ancient Provencal wine culture. The 'Côte du Ventoux' AOC wines are the pride of the region, created by sun-kissed slopes and the perfect Mediterranean climate: love the robust reds, elegant rosés and  refreshing whites. Check for 'les bonnes adresses' further up!

Further afield lie the vineyards of the AOC 'Chateauneuf du Pape'. We are also happy to arrange a tour and a degustation of these spectacular wines for you. Our Caveau holds 1000 bottles...

Santé!
